It is important to teach our children the importance of bike safety and part of this includes bike helmets. Many parents are very unaware of how to properly fit a bike helmet. An ill fitting helmet does nothing to keep your kids safe.  It is of the utmost important things you can do is have a helmet fit correctly. When you buy your lobster, their front claws will be held together by a rubber band of some sort; make sure these rubber bands remain in place. Otherwise, you might end up sustaining the sort of injury you do not expect when you were simply trying to cook some dinner! Besides the lobster (of course!), you will need three items to get started: a towel, a sharp knife, and cutting board.

Fold the towel so that you can place it over the lobster’s eyes (this will keep your lobster sedated), and then set the lobster on the cutting board. Once you have draped the towel over the lobster’s eyes, find the crease down the center of its back, and put the point of the knife on this line – up near the head. Everything is straightforward from this point on; simply drive the knife point downward, then pull it along the spine, down toward the tail. Once you reach the tail, spin the lobster around, and bring the knife back up the other way – through the lobster’s head. The lobster will experience a quick, painless death with that first plunge of the knife, and you will have a lobster that is cleaved into two perfect halves.

All that is left after this is to simply rinse out the lobster’s insides, and then to follow the recipe the rest of the way!
